WHO WAS JOHN PEMBERTON?

John Stith Pemberton was born in Knoxville, in Crawford County on the 8th of January, 1831. At the young age of 19, having already earned his medical degree he decided to turn his skills to pharmacy.

After returning as a hero from the Civil War, he took up a new passion - to create a new drink that would be both uplifting and refreshing.

And then, one day in May in 1886, inside his workshop, he created the first batch of what would become the world's most refreshing drink. ‘Coca-Cola’.

To this day, ‘Coca-Cola’ is still created in the same way as Dr. John Pemberton would have wanted.
